What is considered a good TEAS score?

A “good” TEAS score is one that meets or exceeds the average accepted score at your target schools. In general:

  • Competitive Score: 70th–80th percentile (around 75%–85%)
  • Strong Score: 80th–90th percentile (around 85%–92%)
  • Exceptional Score: Above the 90th percentile (92% or higher)
Aiming for the 80th percentile or above will make you a strong candidate for most programs.

How long should I study for the TEAS?
Most students benefit from a structured plan over 4 to 6 weeks, studying 1.5 to 3 hours per day. This totals around 40–60 hours of focused preparation. Spacing out your study time is more effective than cramming. For a sample study schedule and tips, see this resource: How many hours a day should I study for the TEAS?
